This poster was about Janak and Trish’s senior honors theses, which they presented to the Psychology Department in December. We found that people used different types of words to describe experiences of growth that focus on exploration versus pursuing hopes. Additionally, we found that people used different types of words to describe experiences of security that focus on self-control versus pursuing duties. Additionally, it appears that people bring different types of experiences to mind when describing experiences of self-control versus exploration.
