Guest Speaker Roger K. Harris ´80
Vice President, Sales and Marketing MRIGlobal (Retired)

will be joining us on Tuesday, March 2nd at 12:10 pm will present:

A Scientific Journey from the “Farm” to the “Hill” in our Nation’s Capital

It is unbelievable to me, that I was able to come from a small farming community in Central NY State to Ithaca College and, after graduation, experience some of the most exciting career opportunities that could be imagined.  Ithaca College was the perfect academic institution for me to help develop the confidence and educational foundation for an extremely rewarding career. I spent nearly 34 years at MRIGlobal (founded as Midwest Research Institute) after completing a PhD graduate program at Penn State University. My career research and management roles took me on a scientific journey through biology, chemistry and engineering, to encounter some of the most intriguing problem solving challenges.  I will discuss some career highlights that ranged from, government programs with the NIH (National Institutes of Health) and the DoD (Department of Defense), to product development with the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.  This journey resulted in requests to brief United States Senators and Congressmen on critical MRIGlobal programs that were of national interest. In addition, I was involved in preparing information for PDB’s (Presidential Daily Briefs) for the President of the United States.
