You are invited to our next Physics and Astronomy Colloquia event taking place on March 23, 2021, Tuesday from 12:10 - 1 PM. At next week’s seminar, we will be joined by Colin Curtis, a software engineer at EASI. He’ll discuss his path from physics to engineering and his current work.

Presenter: Colin Curtis, Software Engineer at EASI

Title: From Science to Software Engineering

Abstract: After spending a decade studying physics in the classroom and laboratory, I left my PhD program to find work in the software industry. First as a Research Software Engineer at renci.org and now as a Software Engineer with easi.com, the transition has been difficult but very rewarding. The purpose of this seminar is to share what I have found to be useful in the transition from school to software and how others might make a similar leap.
