Ed Catto, an Instructor focusing on Entrepreneurship and Start-Ups at the School of Business has been recognized as the Best Interior Illustrator and awarded the 2020 Pulp Factory Award.

Catto received the Pulp Factory Award for his New Pulp illustration work on Ravenwood: Stepson of Mystery, Vol 4 from publisher Airship 27 Productions.

New Pulp is a genre of publishing that focuses on thrillers and adventure stories  interspersed with full page illustrations, as was the tradition of the pulp magazines, which flourished in the 30s and 40s.

“The New Pulp movement is, in many ways, the entrepreneurial start-up side of modern day publishing. It’s invigorating to be a part of it,” said Catto.  “It is, for me,  a great honor to receive this national award and to be recognized by both fans and professionals.”

The original artwork from Catto’s next book, The Musketeers: The New Adventures, also published by Airship27, is currently showcased for the month of April at The Underground Bottle Shop in Auburn, NY.
