Fall 2021 Online (synchronous) Diversity Course - Diversity in Aging

Are you looking for a diversity course in the fall? Do you enjoy a structured, well-organized online course? Consider Diversity in Aging (GERO 35000)!

Using a multidisciplinary lens, this course will provide students with the opportunity to deeply consider diversity in the aging experience. Important concepts and current social policies will be considered within historical context. This course will draw from multiple disciplines, including psychology, anthropology, sociology, and the health sciences in an exploration of the aging experience among diverse older populations. Particular emphasis will be placed on social conflict and the disparities that exist among older adult populations and the impact of these disparities on health, well-being, and access to resources. Prerequisites: One liberal arts course in any of the following departments: GERO, SOCI, PSYC, CMST, CSCR, ECON, EDUC, HIST, PHIL, POLT, WGST or ANTH; and Junior standing; or permission of instructor.
