Dear Ithaca College Community, We are particularly enthusiastic about this program because the demand for physician assistants continues to grow rapidly nationwide, creating significant professional opportunities for our students. We look forward to welcoming the inaugural class of 30 PA students into this graduate program this fall. We want to express our deep appreciation for the tremendous effort and investment of our staff and faculty affiliated with this program, and our sincere gratitude for the leadership, vision, and drive of HSHP Dean Linda Petrosino and Susan Salahshor, the program’s director, who joined our community in late 2019. Susan has had a great impact on IC in a very short amount of time, and this extraordinary achievement would not have been possible without her tireless energy and deep commitment to student-centered academic excellence.

Given the fact that so many issues in health boil down to ethics, it is disappointing to see that there is only one 1cr. course in the entire curriculum devoted to ethics and social justice. I\'m sure these topics emerge in other courses (and I recognize that this is a graduate/professional program), but for a college that professes to put the liberal arts at its core, so little attention to a topic at the heart of medical practice is disappointing.
