Ithaca College Board of Trustees Recognizes Faculty Members with PromotionsContributed by News on 05/25/21 Congratulations to the 11 members of the faculty who were recognized with promotions by the Ithaca College Board of Trustees at its May meetings. The following eight faculty members were promoted from associate professor to professor. Criteria for promotion to professor include evidence of a continued record of teaching excellence, evidence of significant scholarly or appropriate professional attainment, evidence of having attained regional or national stature in the discipline or distinguished academic leadership at the college, and evidence of significant service to the college and profession. School of Humanities and Sciences Department of Sociology/Center for Student of Culture, Race and Ethnicity Department of Theatre Arts School of Music Deborah Rifkin, who received her B.A. from SUNY Binghamton, M.M. from the University of Michigan, and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester-Eastman School of Music. Roy H. Park School of Communications Nicholas Muellner, who received his B.A. from Yale University and M.F.A. from Temple University. Department of Strategic Communication The following three faculty members were promoted from assistant to associate professor. Criteria for promotion to associate professor include a sustained record of teaching excellence, evidence of significant scholarly or appropriate professional attainment, and evidence of service to the college and profession.
