Imprint Magazine has been named a finalist in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards for the Northeast Region (Region 1). 

Imprint will be honored for overall excellence in the "Best Independent Online Student Publication" category. The actual place awarded will be announced at a ceremony on April 12-13 at Rutgers University. The winner of the regional competition will go on to compete against the winners in SPJ's other 11 regions for the national Mark of Excellence Award.

Imprint Magazine is "a national college life magazine, exclusively online, based from Ithaca College" with sections titled Arts & Entertainment, Life & Style, Music, Culture & Politics, and Sports, and one creative writing section, Impact. To read the magazine, click here.

The African Students Association will host our first annual Africa week. This week will include a series of events that will be dedicated to promoting awareness to the public about the social, cultural, and political aspects of Africa, both historical and modern.

The Leadership Scholars program recognizes students with a demonstrated record of academic and co-curricular achievements. Students enter the program during their first year at Ithaca College and take on new leadership challenges every semester until they graduate. Components of the program include service projects, professional development, and leadership in student organizations – all recorded in personalized leadership portfolios that are presented to administrators and peers every semester.

What is a Jumpstart Leader? Jumpstart Leaders participate in each Jumpstart program in a leadership capacity and serve as a valuable source of information and advice to students begin their college experience. Students have the opportunity to apply to be a Jumpstart Leader for one of the four programs: Community Plunge, Lead-In, ECHO, and the GREEN Tour (Formerly SCC).

On March 28, 2013, the Jewish Studies program at Ithaca College and the LGBT Center are bringing Dr. Joy Ladin to Ithaca College. At 7:30 p.m., in Textor 101, she will be speaking on her experiences as a transgender Jew, transitioning from male to female and teaching at Yeshiva University, an Orthodox Jewish university in New York City.

 Presentation by Dana Brown, Executive Director of the US Office on Colombia, a human rights advocacy organization based in Washington, DC. 

Brown’s talk with address the many facets of the current peace negotiations between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrilla, with a special focus on civil society engagement in the peace process. She will highlight the struggle of victims’ to secure some measure of truth, justice and reparations in this process, and the possibilities for a parallel peace process with the ELN. Lastly, she will expose critical issues excluded from the negotiating agenda that could have grave implications for the prospects of a lasting peace.

The School of Music offers Healthy Living for Musicians sessions in partnership with the Ithaca College Office of Counseling and Psychological Services (IC CAPS).

School of Music students are encouraged to participate in these sessions to establish a healthy body, mind, and soul, which are a foundation to a happy and successful career. Recital attendance credit is given at each session.
