Submitted on behalf of IC students interested in starting a support group for men to talk about things that impact their lives.

Last semester, a group of students collaborated to form Active Men, a branch of Active Minds, to raise awareness about men and mental health.  The group addressed the stigma about men seeking mental health support (counseling) by creating posters, a display case exhibit, and hosted a guest speaker who talked about his reluctance to seek help due to the pressures and negative social construction of masculinity.

Prism and Park Design House are coordinating the raffle with support from the Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Education Outreach and Services.

Tickets will be for sale in the Emerson Suites Foyer on Sunday, October 28 prior Dan O'Shannon's lecture. Proceeds will benefit a local teen LGBT group and Out for Health. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for an arm's length.
