Study Abroad Info Sessions

Are you interested in studying abroad?  Come to an info session to learn more about study abroad at IC.  The Know Your Options sessions will give an overview of all of the study abroad possibilities available to you as an IC student. The London Center sessions will give you a detailed glimpse of what a semester abroad in London is like. The Exchange Programs info sessions will talk specifically about our exchange partners and the opportunities available to you through these full-immersion study abroad experiences. We are now reviewing applications to the London Center on a rolling basis. Applications for the spring 2013 semester are due by Friday, September 14, but we are reviewing complete applications as they come in and have already accepted a number of students.

The Study Abroad Ice Cream Social is held each fall specifically for first-year students.  It will be held Monday, September 17, 6:00-7:00, Klingenstein Lounge, Campus Center. You will have the chance to hear from and ask questions of lots of IC students who have studied abroad in locations all across the globe, all while eating make-your-own sundaes! This is a great opportunity to learn more about your options for study abroad and to hear all about study abroad directly from students who have lived the experience.

Meet CAPS Counselors

Have you ever wondered who are the counselors at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) that provide mental health services to students?

Active Minds @ Ithaca College is hosting Meet CAPS Counselors so you can learn who they are and what they think about counseling.  Active Minds will be asking questions of the counselors.  Of course, if you have questions, we'll be collecting and asking them too.

So, come on out to Clarke Lounge in the Campus Center Tuesday, September 11th, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a program that is sure to enlighten you about our counselors.

International travel, whether as part of a course, a research project, or a non-credit bearing educational program, can have a profoundly positive impact on student learning.  We are pleased that about 30% of our graduates have an educational experience abroad, whether semester-long, for a summer, or short-term. College faculty and staff members have successfully led programs and research opportunities over the past several years in a number of different locations; these include China, Cyprus, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, England, Ghana, India, Italy, Malawi, Scotland, and Turkey.

The feature-length documentary “Chely Wright: Wish Me Away” — an intimate look at the first country music star to come out as gay — will have its Ithaca premiere at Ithaca College on Wednesday, Sept. 12. Part of the Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen series, the film will be shown at 7 p.m. in Textor 101, and it is free and open to the public.
