Affinity groups are designed to be a safe place where both staff and faculty may speak on common interests and provide an opportunity to seek and support one another.

The Working Parents Affinity Group (WPAG) provides different perspectives on integrating work and our families as working professionals. This group is co-facilitated by two moms who work here on campus and who are interested in developing a resourceful place for other working parents to come together and share with one another based on ideas that YOU provide!!

If you like water in any way, shape or form, here is a class for you. You can do it any time of the day online from anywhere with a high-speed internet connection. Enter the world of this essential element as we explore questions such as: What is your water footprint? Why is water considered 'Blue Gold'? Why is water important in many religious rituals? We will use perspectives from the arts, humanities and sciences, with a focus on the global politics of water and sustainability and its media representations. Internet readings, videos, podcasts, guest lecturers and discussions link students with national and international experts.

This course fulfills Liberal Arts Humanities and Social Science requirements. It also meets H & S Gen. Ed. Requirements for Self & Society + Global Perspectives.

Membership dues paid by the businesses below directly support the Friends of Ithaca College Scholarship, which assists local students with financial need who are attending IC, and the Ithaca Fund, the College's annual fund, which provides support for nearly all aspects of the campus experience.

Sunday April 29 the Ithaca College Men's Soccer team hosted a greatstrides event in conjunction with the Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event which was held at the Athletic and Events Center raised $20,000 for research. Steve Bell, class of 2006, and a soccer alumnus served as the honorary chair of the event.

Danette Johnson, Professor of Communication Studies, has been named a Distinguished Research Fellow by the Eastern Communication Association (ECA). Distinguished Research Fellow status is given in recognition of outstanding scholarly achievement over the course of one’s career, in conjunction with a record of ongoing service to ECA, and is ECA’s highest award for scholarly achievement.

Dr. Johnson’s scholarly contributions include over 35 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her service to ECA includes a term as Executive Director, multiple terms on editorial boards for the association’s journals, and service as chair for the Interpersonal, Instructional, Nonverbal, and Organizational Communication Interest Groups. She is presently ECA’s First Vice President and will begin a term as President next April.
