In a United States court of law, how does the race of the defendant affect the verdict?
RACE TO EXECUTION, a film by Rachel Lyon, follows the story of two death row inmates, exploring the link between race and the death penalty in America.  

Join IC Human Rights in exploring the death penalty in American.  Race to Execution will be screened in Textor 101, Thursday April 21st at 8pm.

The State of New York prohibits smoking in the public areas of all buildings. As such Ithaca College has an established smoking policy (2.8.10) that directly addresses this for the campus community and provides a listing of the designated outdoor smoking areas.

The Campus Life Award is given each year to a select group of graduating seniors in order to recognize their outstanding contributions to the Ithaca College community through participation and involvement in campus life. Over the years this award has become a coveted goal and valued honor. In order to be nominated for this prestigious award, students must have been extensively involved in a number of areas of campus life and have demonstrated significant leadership abilities and accomplishments.

Dr. Jefferson Cowie will give the history department's Spring 2011 Marjorie Fortunoff Mayrock Lecture at 6 PM on April 28 in Textor 101.  Dr. Cowie's talk, "A Nation without Class: The 1970s and the Origins of Our Own Time," is based on his prize-winning 2010 book Stayin' Alive: The 1970s and the Last Days of the Working Class.

 Scott Constable, '12, a Mathematics and Jazz Performance double major, has published two software demonstrations with the Wolfram Demonstrations Project.   The goal stated on the Project website is to "use dynamic computation to illuminate concepts in science, technology, mathematics, art, finance, and a remarkable range of other fields."  Scott has created two demonstrations growing out of research projects in applied mathematics.  Each submitted demonstration undergoes a rigorous review process before publication.

An Inside View on Medical School

Ryan ‘07 and Rachel are finishing their M.D.’s this spring at SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. They will be answering questions about medical school admissions, life in medical school, allopathic vs. osteopathic medicine, using post-bacc programs to improve chances of admission and any other questions you have.

The event will take place today, April 21st at 12:15pm in CNS 115. Food is provided.
