Dr. Jim Ferris, Ability Center of Greater Toledo Endowed Chair of Disability Studies, University of Toledo, an award-winning poet and performer, will present his brand-new one man performance, exploring the various scars, physical and otherwise, we bear and claim as parts of our identity. Dr. Ferris’ most recent volume of poetry, The Hospital Poems, won the MSR Book Award, selected by prominent American poet Edward Hirsch.

Susan Allen-Gil, chair of the Environmental Studies and Sciences department, and Susan Swensen, chair of the Biology department, are among the faculty included in an article titled "Sustainability As an Academic Discipline" in the latest issue of Sustainability: The Journal of Record. This article was based upon a roundtable panel discussion that Dr. Allen-Gil and Dr. Swensen convened for the conjoined AASHE/Greening of the Campus conference in Fall 2009.

I’m pleased to announce the division of Enrollment Management is changing its name to “Enrollment and Communication.” This change appropriately recognizes the addition of the Marketing Communications group to the division, which took place during the summer of 2009.   This change also recognizes that marketing is not limited to recruitment and enrollment functions.   As an institutional priority, marketing and communication encompass a broad spectrum of goals, strategies, and initiatives. In addition to Marketing Communications, the umbrella of the Enrollment and Communication division includes Admission and Student Financial Services.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday will be celebrated in 2011 during the first week of classes, January 24-29, 2011 (as the Federal holiday falls this year prior to the return of students).

The planning committee is soliciting academic presentations as part of this week of celebration and service.  This year's theme is: Addressing the Fierce Urgency of Now.

SLI sessions for Block 2 are now open for registration!  Please register early for the sessions that you plan to attend!

The Student Leadership Institute (SLI) is a series of free, interactive workshops designed to help students develop and refine personal leadership skills. As an Ithaca College student, you may choose to attend any session that interests you, or take part in a series of six sessions to earn an SLI certificate. Certificates recognize students who invest time and energy into developing their leadership knowledge and skills.

IC Link's upgrade will help your organization stand out, market to and connect with all students on campus. There are many new features that will help increase the promotion and communication of your organization.

Each organization can upload photos, create and design their profile with its own unique header and colors, post to a wall, send messages to all members, track service hours and advertise their events with new flyer board.

Organizations can also create documents, hold elections and survey students through IC Link.

As you know from previous reports of the provost search committee, the final phase of our recruitment effort includes inviting select candidates to visit our campus.
