This chapter appeared in Cross-Cultural Psychology: Contemporary Themes and Perspectives, edited by Kenneth Keith. This book serves as a comprehensive review of key areas of psychological science from a cultural perspective. Prof. Beins has previously written on topics related to cross-cultural psychology, and he is a Fellow of International Psychology (a division of the American Psychological Association).
