I need one male and one female native speaker of German to record a dialogue for a German language textbook (to be published by Yale University Press). Participants will be paid for their time.

Please contact James Pfrehm at jpfrehm@ithaca.edu for script and additional information. After short audition, two participants will be selected. Participants with experience or interest in acting highly desired. Software and hardware for recording will be provided.

Professors Brian Karafin, Rachel Wagner and Amanullah De Sondy attended the annual conference of the American Academy of Religion in Montreal from 6-10th November. They were accompanied by students John Borchert, Shannon Sly, and Christa Petruzzi, supported by an Ithaca College Educational Grant Initiative award. Amanullah presented a paper within the Men’s Studies in Religion Group on the topic of his forthcoming monograph on ‘Islamic Masculinities in Texts, Traditions, Societies and Culture’ and participated in the Study of Islam Section of the conference. Rachel presented twice, once at the Wabash Center for Teaching and Theology's luncheon on pedagogies of virtual reality, and a second time on rituals and gaming in a blended session of the Ritual Studies Group and the Religion, Media and Culture Group.

Holly Fodge, a graduate student in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education (HPPE), presented a paper titled, "Women in the Academy and the Price of Legitimacy" at the Succeeding as Women in Higher Education Conference at SUNY Cortland on October 25, 2009.

Democracy advocate and world food and hunger expert Frances Moore Lappe will be speaking on Food, Finance and Climate Crises at Hobart & William Smith College. Ithaca College's Jason Hamilton will join her for a post-presentation panel discussion.

The event will take place in HWS's Albright Auditorium on Wednesday November 18, 2009,  from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Ithaca College’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Department offers ergonomic reviews to staff and faculty. Proper ergonomics is necessary to prevent injuries, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.
