This program features quick and easy tips and low- and even NO-cost ways to reduce your energy costs. The program features lots of do-it-yourself videos, as well as printable factsheets and instructions.

The Sustainability at Ithaca group has made a special arrangement with Cooperative Extension to make FREE CDs of this terrific program available to interested members of the IC community.

I am the Program Manager for Cornell's Program on Breast Cancer and Environmental Risk Factors (BCERF). Our program is working on a project called The Estrogen Connection. With the help from Ithaca College students and professors we developed 3 short video clips demonstrating simple steps students can make to reduce their exposure to environmental estrogens in everyday products. Colleges Against Cancer is calling out to anyone who is fighting cancer or who is a cancer survivor in order to form a "Survivor Network." With this network, the committee plans to put together events such as Family Fun Nights, so the families of survivors can get away from the stress that treatments have caused for a night. The Survivorship Committee of College's Against Cancer works hard on these events, so it's bound to be a good time for all!

After numerous performances worldwide, including concerts with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the China National Symphony, Ithaca native and classical concert pianist Frederic Chiu will return to his hometown on Saturday, January 31, to give a free concert. The performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

In addition to music by Mendelssohn and Chopin, Chiu will play one of his own transcriptions, “Erbarme dich” from Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, a transcription by Liszt of Wagner’s “Liebestod” from Tristan und Isolde, and three selections from Liszt’s Annees de Pelerinage.

The Enduring Masters series at Ithaca College will continue on Friday, January 30, with a performance by world-renowned bandoneón virtuoso Daniel Binelli. Free and open to the public, the concert will start at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Binelli will also conduct four days of master classes.
