Ithaca College will hold a campus-wide test of its Emergency Notification System (ENS) and Outdoor Warning System (OWS) at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The ENS uses voice, e-mail, and IC Alert text messaging to provide information and instructions in the event of a campus emergency. The OWS uses a siren tone and outdoor loudspeaker message to supplement the message for those on campus. There is no need to take any action in response to the test.

Established through contributions from staff, faculty, and friends of James J. Whalen, Ithaca College’s 6th president, in honor of his 22 years of service to the College.

This award is granted to eligible staff members in a degree program at Ithaca College. The money can be used to pay for books and defray other educational costs. Candidates for the J.J. Staff Scholar Award must be full-time staff members of the College; matriculated in a degree program; have completed at least 60 credit hours toward an undergraduate degree, or pursuing a graduate-level degree, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the Office of International Programs want to invite you to meet students who studied during the last academic year in a Spanish-speaking country.  Returning students will share information regarding their programs and will make special mention of their academic and social experiences.  This is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in studying abroad in the Spring or in the near future. There will be time for questions and answers.

The physical therapy and exercise science departments at Ithaca College are teaming up to conduct a research project called the Wellness and Cancer Survivorship Program. The program will offer a free fitness membership and a supportive and individualize exercise program to local cancer survivors for the fall semester at the Ithaca College Wellness Clinic.

We are looking for individuals who are currently not exercising regularly, have had a diagnosis of non-metastatic cancer (stage 1-3), and are within 3 years since their final treatment. Participants will be provided with a team of fitness specialists including faculty, staff and students to help them achieve their exercise goals over an 8 wk period. Click here for more information

Every year the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival offers mini courses that take advantage of the week long Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, March 23-29, 2020. We are looking for faculty who would like to teach a one credit course inspired by the theme of the 2020 Festival, 'INFILTRATIONS.'  

Faculty from all disciplines are invited to suggest courses. Courses begin after Spring break and may be offered at traditional times, MWF or TTh or may be weekend courses or may even meet one night a week. Students in the FLEFF mini courses will attend several FLEFF events and film screenings that may connect to the material covered in the FLEFF courses.
