In the past Move-In Day has occurred on the weekend, allowing new students and their families to have easy access to parking. This year Move-In Day takes place during the day on August 20, 2019. Family Orientation programs will then take place during the day on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

We wanted to share some of the latest updates related to the PayFlex Health Savings Account (HSA) investment account.

If you are investing your HSA dollars, as of October 1, 2019, you'll notice the following updates regarding your investment account and platform:

  • A new fund to your lineup of investments. The American Funds 2060 Target Date Retirement Fund (RFUTX) is being added as the next 5-year increment offering in the suite of target date funds offered by American Funds. 
  • A minimal monthly fee to your investment account. The fee is .02% of your investment account balance. This monthly fee aligns to industry standards. And it is automatically deducted from your HSA cash account each month.

Associate Professor in Theatre Arts Wendy Dann's short film, La Casa Verde, was invited to screen at the San Antonio Film Festival. The film premiered in 2018 at the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival.

Dr. Lisa Farman, Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication, was honored with a top paper award at the annual conference of the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication (AEJMC), held in Toronto, August 7-10. Based on blind-peer-review scores for her research paper, she received the Advertising Division’s second top faculty research paper award, with a prize of $200. Farman’s research was also featured in the Advertising Division’s “Outstanding Papers” session. The abstract is included below:
