Andy Smith, professor of Biology, was the keynote speaker for a joint networking event of the European Network of BioAdhesion expertise (ENBA) and BioSmart Trainees. The talk was held at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK). The title of the talk was “Double networks and gastropod glue: unlocking the potential of adhesive gels”. This event brought in the top bioadhesive researchers in Europe, with BioSmart Trainees. These trainees are early stage researchers who have received fellowships for advanced training in the bio-inspired design of smart adhesive materials. Dr. Smith also gave a workshop at the conference, providing practical advice on the design of tough gels for use as adhesives. Easter Sunday Mass- Sun. Educational Psychology explores the study of human development from infancy through adolescence, including cognitive and behavioral approaches to learning in the context of school and other instructional situations. This course is required for the Education Studies Minor and the Teacher Education preparation track. Ithaca College distinguished visiting professor A. Van Jordan will deliver a poetry reading this Saturday, April 13, from 3-4 p.m. at the Tompkins County Public Library in downtown Ithaca.
Plowbreak Farm, owned and operated by Kara Cusolito '08 and Aaron Munzer '08, will again be offering locally grown vegetable CSA shares to the Ithaca College community, with a convenient pick-up site at the Peggy R. Williams Center on Wednesdays, and a downtown pickup on Thursdays at the Westy, a local beer garden. The farm is located in Hector, about twenty miles from the college, and grows six acres of produce in fields and greenhouses that overlook Seneca Lake.
