Andy Smith, professor of Biology, was the keynote speaker for a joint networking event of the European Network of BioAdhesion expertise (ENBA) and BioSmart Trainees. The talk was held at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK). The title of the talk was “Double networks and gastropod glue: unlocking the potential of adhesive gels”. This event brought in the top bioadhesive researchers in Europe, with BioSmart Trainees. These trainees are early stage researchers who have received fellowships for advanced training in the bio-inspired design of smart adhesive materials.  Dr. Smith also gave a workshop at the conference, providing practical advice on the design of tough gels for use as adhesives.

 All students, faculty, staff and families are invited to attend Catholic Mass to celebrate Easter Sunday on April 21 at 12 PM in Emerson Suites. 

Celebrate the joy of the Resurrection on Easter this year.

A rally and educational event will be held on the Ithaca College campus on Tuesday, April 23rd,as students seek to end the use of the “R” word — “retard(ed)” — in everyday speech. “Spread the Word to End the Word” will be held from 4:30–6:30pm in IC Square. It is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Come support the Softball team this Saturday (4/13) and the Golf team this Sunday (4/14), as they dedicate their events to Ithaca College Unites for HER, an organization that works to raise money to provide complementary services to those diagnosed with breast cancer in the Ithaca College community! The softball games will begin at 1pm and 4pm on 4/13 at the Kostrinsky Field, and golf will take place on 4/13 (time TBA) at the Country Club of Ithaca. Please wear pink to show your support.

The on-campus Food Pantry will be open again on Thursday, April 11th, Noon-1pm.

The Pantry is located in the DeMotte Room (you can enter using the entrance to Phillips Hall closest to the upper quads - near the stairs that go up to the academic quad). The Pantry is open to any and all members of the IC community. There are no qualifications for this program.

Plowbreak Farm, owned and operated by Kara Cusolito '08 and Aaron Munzer '08, will again be offering locally grown vegetable CSA shares to the Ithaca College community, with a convenient pick-up site at the Peggy R. Williams Center on Wednesdays, and a downtown pickup on Thursdays at the Westy, a local beer garden. The farm is located in Hector, about twenty miles from the college, and grows six acres of produce in fields and greenhouses that overlook Seneca Lake.

Educational Psychology explores the study of human development from infancy through adolescence, including cognitive and behavioral approaches to learning in the context of school and other instructional situations. This course is required for the Education Studies Minor and the Teacher Education preparation track.

VoiceThreads are posted daily for each reading and give an overview of the main theories and concepts. In addition, daily assignments and quizzes are posted in advance of their due date, allowing students to schedule their completion of work on Sakai by the deadlines.
