The staff of the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach and Services knows that being back at home can be wonderful, but sometimes stressful. And we know some students may be staying on campus or nearby during the break, too. The Thanksgiving break resources page includes additional helpful information including how to find the nearest LGBT community center to your home community or wherever this break may take you, national hotline information, and more.

Some students may consider this particular break as a possible time to come out to family and friends. Coming out is a highly individual, personal process. Only you can know when or whether it's the right time for you. This section of the LGBT Center website includes specific resources for you, your family, and friends, about coming out - whether you decide to do so this week, or at any other time of the year that's right for you.

Dear Campus Community,

One of my top priorities has been to address these concerns in a manner that is aligned with the need for support and services and with best practices in higher education and in the best interest of our students.
