Live, Learn, Intern: ICNYC!

Are you looking for a unique and rewarding internship experience?  Interested in spending a semester living, interning, and studying in New York City?  The semester-long ICNYC program is open to select majors from all five schools. The program centers on a six-credit internship and at least six credits of coursework. ICNYC is designed to let students live and gain real work experience in one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

SIT, one of Ithaca College's study abroad partners, offers options for interdisciplinary, immersive, field-based programs in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.  Programs focus on critical global issues such as migration, climate, global health, and human rights. Wanda Dutton from SIT Study Abroad will be on campus this Thursday, February 22, and is available to meet with faculty or visit classes to discuss options for student study abroad and faculty collaboration.

Teacher Recruitment Days (TRD) will be held this year on April 16-17 at SUNY Cortland. During this event districts from across the country send recruiters to conduct interviews for known and anticipated vacancies. Graduate and undergraduate students, and IC alumni who will be eligible for certification by September 2018 may register to attend TRD.

February 26-March 4, 2018 is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW), and the goal this year is to shine a spotlight on eating disorders by educating the public, spreading a message of hope, and providing life-saving resources to those in need. The earlier an eating disorder is recognized and treatment begins, the better chance there is for a full recovery.

Lenelle Moïse, Playwright-in-Residence at Ithaca College will offer a short performance of original poetry in the Handwerker Gallery, currently set up as Gertrude Stein's Paris salon.  This event will be held on February 20th, from 4-5:15 pm and is sponsored by the Women's and Gender Studies Program.  Cookies and apple cider will be served.
