NARB Recommends Young Living Essential Oils Discontinue Claims; Panel Chaired by Scott Hamula, IMCContributed by Sandra Lowe on 12/08/20 A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB), the appellate advertising law body of BBB National Programs, has recommended that Young Living Essential Oils, LC (Young Living) discontinue “therapeutic grade” claims for its “essential oils,” as well as unsupported health and wellness benefit claims.The case panel was chaired by IMC professor Scott Hamula. The advertising at issue, as well as other claims, had been challenged by S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (SCJ) before the National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs. (398 words) As a newly selected Davis United World College (UWC) Scholars Program partner school, Ithaca College undergraduate students are now eligible to participate in the Davis UWC Projects for Peace initiative. Projects for Peace is an initiative for all undergraduate students currently enrolled at one of the participating Davis United World College Scholars Program partner schools (and a few other institutions) to design grassroots projects for the summer of 2021 - anywhere in the world - which promote peace and address the root causes of conflict among parties. Applicants are encouraged to use their creativity to design projects and employ innovative techniques for engaging project participants in ways that focus on conflict resolution, reconciliation, building understanding and breaking down barriers which cause conflict, and finding solutions for resolving conflict and maintaining peace.
