Ithaca College’s Asian American Alliance has been dedicated to being an outlet for students to interact through educational, social, political and cultural events and activities. They advocate for issues that pertain to the Asian/Asian American community from visibility in the western education curriculum to addressing the stereotypes that continue to place Asian/Asian American identity at the margins of society and focus on bridging the multiracial identities. Their aim is to empower their members with the knowledge base and confidence to change the world around them.

 The club Ithaca College Unites For HER participates in fundraising efforts to provide a grant to any student, faculty, staff or immediate family member of theirs affected by breast cancer. This grant is to help pay for integrative, complementary therapies to help those who are going through or have gone through breast cancer treatment. These therapies include acupuncture, yoga classes, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling among others. Dr. Hongwei Guan, Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, received the Indiana University Mobley International Distinguished Alumni Award on April 14, 2017.

The Mobley International Distinguished Alumni Award is awarded to an international graduate of the School of Public Health – Bloomington who has demonstrated outstanding personal and Professional achievement. It was named for Tony Mobley upon his retirement in 2002 after servicing for 26 years as Dean of the school, one of the longest serving school deans in the history of Indiana University. This award recognized Dr. Guan’s leadership in integrating sport and physical activities in global education and his efforts to promote healthy lifestyle, cultural awareness and global citizenship.

In an effort to support the increasing growth of conferences and events occurring at Ithaca College during the summer, Parking Services has collaborated with Campus Center and Event Services to create new summer parking restrictions that are more hospitable to the many visitors that are attracted to come to Ithaca College over the summer.  The goal of this change is to create a more welcoming environment for our summer guests who are unfamiliar with our campus.  These changes are feasible given the significant reduction of faculty, staff and students accessing parking facilities on campus during the summer months.
