María DiFrancesco, Associate Professor of Spanish and Chair of Modern Languages & Literatures, recently traveled to Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) to deliver an invited lecture entitled, “Space and the Body in Pedro Almodóvar’s La piel que habito.” During her trip to Trinity, Prof. DiFrancesco also taught a guest class on Alejandro Iñárritu’s film Biutiful (2010). Prof. DiFrancesco’s visit was facilitated by the “Mexico, the Americas, and Spain” (MAS) program, which supports opportunities for intellectual engagement with Hispanic language, life, and culture.

DIIS will be updating one of our authentication systems at 8:30 AM on Monday, March 13th (the first day of spring break, when the college is closed). The impact will be limited to just the services listed below. We will be coordinating with each service provider, and login to these services will be unavailable starting at 8:30 am until each service provider completes their portion of the work that morning or afternoon. Thank you  to everyone who showed up to donate Blood yesterday 2/16. The RED Cross was able to exceed  our goal of 114 units, for a total of  133 units of Blood, of that 20 Double Reds were collected.

With out you the donor! this event would not have been so successful . Thank you so very much for helping those who need this life saving blood, YOU made there day much better!!!

These nominations should reflect graduating seniors (Class of 2017) who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership development, civic engagement, and support for the community at IC. Students may also nominate themselves.

After the incredible audience last week, there will be a second community screening of National Geographic's documentary film Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric, Saturday February 25 from 1-2:30 pm in Textor 101. Gender Revolution follows Katie Couric as she explores the complexities of gender identity. If you missed our first screening, or would like to see it again, you're in luck! Please join us. Free and open to the public.

In January 2017, National Geographic published a special issue on gender, featuring photos, text, and graphics related to gender expressions around the world. This was followed by the National Geographic documentary Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric. IC has acquired the documentary for a second community screening of this program, to be held on February 25th, in Textor 101, from 1-2:30 pm.
