As you may know, Ithaca College is undergoing a project to renovate some of the accessible parking spaces on campus.  Beginning on Thursday July 14th, the spaces on the north side of E-Lot will be taken off line so renovations can begin.  There should still be enough spaces in the lot; however, four temporary accessible spaces will be added in U-Lot until the project is completed.

On Thursday, July 21st between 5:00 and 7:00 PM there will be an outage of the campus voice mail system due to maintenance. This downtime is needed to complete a portion of the maintenance that was not able to be performed during the last outage on July 7th.

Provost and Vice President for Educational Affairs Benjamin Rifkin has announced that he will be resigning from that position, effective July 31. Rifkin will remain on the faculty, where he is a tenured professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.

“It has been an honor to serve as the provost and vice president for educational affairs at Ithaca College during this past year, and I have felt truly privileged to work with our remarkable students, faculty, and staff,” said Rifkin. “At the same time, it has been a tumultuous year, for all of us on campus. During this time of transition, I have decided that it is best for me and for the college that I resume my role as a professor and contribute to the mission of the college through my work on the faculty.”

Phi Kappa Phi's Study Abroad Session B application is now open! Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Twenty-five $1,000 grants will be awarded.

Stephen Sweet (Professor of Sociology) joined a team of scholars who visited the offices of congressional representatives Charles Rangel (D), Nita Lowey (D), Tom Reed (R) and senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D) and Chuck Schumer (D) as part of the Work and Family Researchers Network Work-Family Congressional Education and Policy Day (in collaboration with the National Partnership for Women & Families and the Washington Center for Equitable Growth).  The lobbying effort was intended to generate support for legislation currently proposed for paid family leave, paid sick leave, and schedule predictability.  Stephen Sweet serves as member of the executive committee for the Work and Family Researchers Network.
