Apply this weekend!

The 14th annual Cross Cultural Leadership Retreat (CCLR) for Ithaca College students will be held on November 13-15, 2015. CCLR is a two and a half day retreat where students explore various aspects of diversity and make connections to leadership strategies and student leaders on campus. During the retreat, the entire group will unite to participate in a series of educational sessions and discuss issues as a large group, as well as in smaller, informal conversations.

Big Pink Volleyball!

The Office of Recreational Sports is hosting a one-day volleyball tournament, with one big twist: a 4-ft diameter ball! This is an event you will not want to miss out on. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are raising funds to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Teams can be between 4-10 people, with a required team contribution of $30. Any additional contributions are welcome.

Date: 10/3/15

Time: 12:00 PM 

The day will include music, food, prizes, and of course some fun volleyball! So grab some friends and make a team! All students, faculty, and staff are welcome, with the option to participate in the competitive or the recreational division.

 

Registrations forms are available at the Fitness Center front desk or online.

Faculty Council is seeking nominations for a part-time faculty member to fill the 2 year, part-time faculty representative seat on Faculty Council.  Self nominations are welcomed and any faculty member, full- or part-time may nominate a part-time faculty member for the position, but only part-time faculty members below the rank of associate will vote in the election.

     Please submit nominations, including self-nominations, along with a very short statement to be published on the ballot, to Peter Rothbart, Chair of Faculty Council at rothbart@ithaca.edu.

Deadline: Friday, October 2, 5 PM

Faculty Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month, from 7:00-9:00 PM.

Virginia Mansfield-Richardson, longtime associate dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications, will be leaving to serve as associate provost at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She starts in her new position on October 19.

Mansfield-Richardson joined the Park School in 1999 after holding teaching and administrative positions at Penn State, Ohio University, and American University. She previously worked for 12 years as a reporter, editor, and columnist with the Washington Post. As associate dean, her responsibilities included assessment and retention, curriculum approvals, course scheduling, graduate student advising and policies, scholarships/grants, and working with parents.

Join Park School's Associate Dean Bryan Roberts as he hosts Park Tank -- a live event on Friday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. in the Park Hall Auditorium. Cheer on your fellow students as they pitch new media concepts for a chance to win a share of $1000. Park Tank features an alumni judging panel, live audience voting ... and a few sharks.
