Share your projects with the campus community! The online submission for the 24th Annual James J. Whalen Symposium will close on March 17, 2021 at 11:59PM EST. Submissions will be accepted for presentations, performances, and displays, to be shown at the Virtual Whalen Symposium in April. Abstracts cannot be submitted after the March 17th deadline.

Every year, we are overwhelmed by all the support we receive from faculty and staff in helping us put on our annual Whalen Symposium. If you or members of your department are able to join us this year for the 24th Annual Whalen Symposium, on April 19, 20, and 21, 2021 from 4PM-7PM EST,  volunteering as an Abstract Reviewer, Finalist Judge, Moderator, or Time Keeper/Zoom Moderator, we'd be glad to have you. Detailed instructions will be sent to volunteers as necessary, and there will be a practice session closer to the conference.

The application deadline for Fall 2021 has been extended to March 31.  We offer coursework that will allow you to satisfy ICC or other degree requirements, and you can add a cultural internship to put some international work experience on your resume. Now is the time to start thinking about how London can fit in with your academic plan!

The Wellness Clinic is open and accepting new faculty, staff, and graduate student members!   Virtual services are free to all members of the campus community (except for virtual personal training).  Membership is required for access to virtual personal training and all in-person services including 90-minute workout sessions, group exercise classes, fitness evaluations, and maximal exercise testing.

 Are you having difficulty hearing over Zoom or through technology?  Has the use of masks made it more difficult to hear during communication?  Do you feel your hearing is fine but you want a baseline test? Our clinic offers free evaluations for most audiologic concerns. 

Due to safety protocols, these services are only available to the Ithaca College Community (students, staff and faculty).

  • What Passover foods do you need? Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?
  • Do you have any specific requirements, questions, or concerns regarding what will be available? 

Come by Kosher Korner at Terrace Dining Hall. Meet with Chaim our new Kosher Supervisor. He is available between 8 AM - 7 PM Sunday through Friday.

I am writing to update the campus community on plans for the forthcoming reopening of Ithaca College’s satellite instructional sites.

London Center (ICLC)

We are actively planning for a Fall 2021 reopening of the beautiful Ithaca College London Center. As recently announced on Intercom, Professor of Theatre Arts Catherine Weidner will serve as the Interim Director of ICLC for 2021-22, joining Orla McCormick, Associate Director, and the London Center staff who are eager to welcome IC students back to London. As we prepare, we continue to monitor guidance involving international travel as well as the many health and safety expectations the Center must observe.

Express Meal Swipe – Lunch at Campus Center

  • Meal plan holders can now swipe for an express lunch meal in Campus Center (across from the Information Desk), Monday-Friday from 11 am to 4pm. Each meal includes an option from a variety of freshly prepared sandwiches served on Ithaca Bakery rolls, fresh fruit, chips, a cookie, and bottled water. 

Extended Meal Swipe Service – Dinner at Tower’s Marketplace

  • Meal plan holders can now swipe in for dinner seven days a week from 5 pm to 9:30 pm at Towers Marketplace. All meals must be pre-ordered using the Grubhub app, and a notification will be sent when your order is ready for pick up.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Catherine Weidner, currently chair of the Department of Theatre Arts, will serve as Interim Director of the ICLC London for the 2021-2022 academic year, joining Associate Director Orla McCormick and her London-based team. Together, they will coordinate the anticipated reopening (pending all safety clearances, which are not guaranteed) of the Center in Fall 2021. During the 2021-2022 year, the College and the London-based faculty/staff will consider and update the administrative structures of the ICLC site and will establish a long-term vision for the work of the Center. This preparation will allow the College to frame and initiate a search for ongoing ICLC leadership.
