On Thursday, October 27th STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur) will be screening Hotel Rwanda at 7 pm in the Textor 101. We will provide free pizza and pop for those attending. After the movie, a short clip will be shown about the genocide currently occuring in Darfur, Sudan and a few Ithaca College professors will facilitate a discussion about what's going on and what can be done.

If you haven't seen this Academy Award nominated film, we hope to see you next Thursday evening. Bring your friends, roommates, and classmates to enjoy a free movie, free food, and some great discussion. It will be evocative, emotional, powerful, and informational. You can make a difference. Take a STAND today.

For more information about the event or the organization STAND, please e-mail Kaitlin Hasseler at khassel1@ithaca.edu

Interactive Journalism: Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone

Anyone interested in this issue may also like to follow the new "Kevin Sites in the Hotzone" on Yahoo! News (http://hotzone.yahoo.com) -- one reporter, trying to travel to every "hot spot" (area of armed conflict) in the world in one year, reporting on the human face of such conflict.

Kevin has been in Africa to start and it has been very educational. Readers can participate in discussions, see photo essays and view video clips as well as reading Kevin's daily dispatches.

Fascinating both for those interested in the events as well as those interested in new forms of interactive journalism.
