Associate professor of politics Chip Gagnon made a number of public talks and scholarly presentations over the last several weeks.

  • "Secular Missionaries in Post-Conflict Societies: External Attempts at Societal Transformation in Southeast Europe," a paper presented for the panel, "Bosnia: Inside/Outside of Post-Conflict Zones," at the annual meeting of the International Studies Association, San Francisco, March 29, 2008
  • "Yugoslavia in 1989 and After," an invited paper presented at the conference, "The 1989 Revolutions: Roots, Course, Legacies," Center for European Studies, Stanford University, March 14, 2008
  • "Kosovo and Borders," a talk given as part of panel discussion, "Border Changes and the Challenges of Contemporary International Politics," sponsored by the international relations program and the Department of Political Science, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Geneva, New York, April 3, 2008

Professor Gagnon also spoke on the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s at seminars on post-Communist transitions at Cornell University and at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in early April.
