MLK Week 2012 Academic Presentations Solicited - A New Definition of GreatnessContributed by Doreen Hettich-Atkins on 11/09/11 The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday will be celebrated in 2012 during the first week of classes, January 23-28, 2012 (as the Federal holiday falls this year prior to the return of students). MLK Week 2012 marks the 17th annual Ithaca College community celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his teachings. The MLK planning committee is proud to announce the 2012 MLK Week theme: A New Definition of Greatness. “If you want to be great – wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That’s a new definition of greatness…it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from the “Drum Major Instinct" sermon, given on February 4, 1968
All academic presentations will be held on Tuesday, January 24 or Thursday, January 26 between 12:15 and 1:00 pm.
