"LiNK" (Liberty in North Korea) Film Screening: "HIDING"Contributed by Gena Mangiaratti on 12/06/11
This Thursday, December 8, at 8:00 pm in Textor 101, LiNK will be screening their new film "Hiding" on the human rights crisis in North Korea. This event is free and open to the public. The government of North Korea currently provides its citizens with essentially no human rights. North Koreans experience a lack of freedom of speech and press, political concentration camps, and a devastating food crisis. When they try to escape to neighboring China, they must hide or else the Chinese government will send them right back to North Korea, where they will be jailed for escaping. Individuals with disabilities seeking accommodations should contact Lillie Fleshler at lfleshl1@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. To stay connected, check out the Facebook pages for LiNK: Liberty in North Korea, IC Human Rights, and the IC Asian American Alliance! |
