Dickens in Ithaca presents: The Mutual Friend starring John Anderson (Performance Studies, Emerson College)Contributed by Elizabeth Bleicher on 03/29/12
John Dennis Anderson’s performance is a solo presentation in the character of George Dolby, the manager of Dickens's famous reading tours, from the biographical novel The Mutual Friend by Frederick Busch. Anderson constructs a rich personal, historical and literary tapestry, then conducts a talkback after the performance, with questions from the audience. A recipient of numerous Chautauqua grants, Anderson performs nationally his one-person shows as authors Henry James, William Faulkner, Washington Irving, Lynn Riggs, and Robert Frost. FREE ADMISSION due to generous sponsorship by the Communication Studies and English departments and the Honors Program of Ithaca College.
