Brothers 4 Brothers (B4B) hosts an alternative event for Cortaca Night!Contributed by Theresa Johnson on 12/01/15 Brothers for Brothers (B4B) is a student organization dedicated to providing a safe space and support system for marginalized men on campus. B4B welcomes all students on campus who identify as male and incorporates many aspects of community involvement. They operate on a CAPS system, which stands for community, academic, political, and social. These are the four major focus areas of B4B: community service, academic commitment, and political and social consciousness. A recent event hosted by B4B along with the Student Activities Board and the Caribbean Student Association was the Official Cortaca After Party held on Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the Fitness Center. This event was one that B4B had brainstormed all the way back in the spring 2015 semester and had begun working on the last week in August. Members of B4B even reached out to students at SUNY Cortland, Syracuse University, and Tompkins Cortland Community College to advertise the events on those campuses as well. The event was a huge success with approximately 800 attendees throughout the night. For more information on other successful student organizations please click here! |
