Gordon Rowland co-edited a book with Allison Carr-Chellman (Dean, School of Education, University of Idaho) called Issues in technology, learning and instructional design: Classic and contemporary debates (2017, Routledge).

 

 

He wrote one of the book’s chapters, titled "Bring design to design-based research.” Rowland also published a book chapter about the STCM 123000 Systemic Design course. This was called "Undisciplined and out of control: A course in systems thinking and design for first-year undergraduate students” and was written as a design case for the book Studio teaching in higher education: Selected design cases (2016, Routledge), edited by Elizabeth Boling (Indiana University), Richard Schwier (University of Saskatchewan), Colin Gray (Purdue University), Kennon Smith (Indiana University) and Katy Campbell (University of Alberta).
