Jewish Studies is offering several ICC courses in Fall 2017. Hebrew Scriptures (JWST/RLST 10300; MWF 10:00) - Learn about how and why the Bible was written, and why it's still important to people in the world today. Jews in the Modern World (JWST 20200; TR 2:35-3:50). Learn about the varieties of modern Jewish cultures and the dramatic changes Jews have lived through since 1492 (when Jews were expelled from Spain) to the present day. Expressions of Jewish Art & Architecture in Muslim Lands (JWST/RLST 22500; TR 4:00-5:15) Survey of a wide range of art and architecture made by and for Jews from the ancient world to the present-day Middle East, offering an historical introduction to the vibrant cultural worlds of Jewish communities in Muslim-majority lands.
