Informational Session on New York State Paid Family Leave ProgramContributed by Tom Schneller on 09/28/17 To All Contingent Faculty: Before you communicate with your Chair/Director about your availability for work in 2018, we want you to be aware that you will gain new rights as a worker in 2018. Starting January 1, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave Program (PFL) will provide private sector employees working in New York state with job-protected, paid family leave for parents and caretakers. What does the new law provide?
Who can take these benefits?
If you are - or expect to be - a new parent, have a family member with a serious health condition, a spouse in the military, or just want to learn more about this new state-wide program, we invite you to join us for an Informational Session to learn more about how to take advantage of these new benefits! Join us for an Info Session on *NEW* Paid Family Leave Benefits for Contingent Faculty on Friday, October 6th from 2:00 to 2:50 PM in Center for Health Sciences (CHS) 202. All contingent faculty, whether full-time or part-time, whether employed at IC or not, are welcome. We also hope to make this meeting available online for those who can't attend in person - more details on that coming soon. If you require accommodations in order to access this Info Session, please contact Megan Graham at mdgraham@ithaca.edu
