Her article, “Applications of Dendrochronology in Northwestern Mexico,” presents the first application of dendroarchaeology in Mesoamerica.  The research uses prehispanic tree-ring data to demonstrate the potential of this method as a tool to control time and reconstruct past climate.

I think the IC community should be aware of the importance of this
article. This means of both accurately dating sites and identifying
environmental impacts is an increasingly significant addition to the
archaeological analytical toolkit. That Paula has applied this to
Mesoamerica is a tremendous step forward. Congratulations!
