Ithaca.edu Update: Creating our New Voice and ToneContributed by Jennifer King MacKenzie on 02/11/18 As we continue to count down to the launch of the overhauled Ithaca.edu experience, we're excited to share the latest post to our "Work in Progress" College Relations and Communications blog. This week's topic is Creating the Voice and Tone of Ithaca.edu, written by our Senior Creative Copywriter, Nellie Wallace. While working on the new ithaca.edu and talking to people across campus, we knew we had to find the right voice and tone to reflect IC on the web. Read how this process began with some important questions. Ithaca.edu Update: Creating our New Voice and Tone Comment from

Whatever else you do, PLEASE do something about the awful search functionality on the Ithaca.edu website. As an employee and a supervisor, I struggle to find information I need (especially HR information that is current and accurate). As a librarian, I've been trained in how to use search terms which should return relevant results -- but searches on Ithaca.edu seldom do. Please upgrade to a better search function. Thanks!

Hi Karin!
While I am not at all a representative of their department, I have sat in on several presentations for the new website and can absolutely confirm that revamping the search tool is a major focus of their redesign. They have emphasized this goal in many presentations, so I think it is safe to say it will be a major improvement! |
