Come to Buffalo Street Books at 5:00 Friday, May 11th, to enjoy a glass of wine and a presentation by Jennifer Jolly, Associate Professor and Chair of Art History, in celebration of her new book on art, tourism, and nation building in 1930s Mexico. 

Creating Pátzcuaro, Creating Mexico: Art, Tourism, and Nation Building under Lázaro Cárdenas (University of Texas, 2018), examines how celebrated Mexican President Lázaro Cárdenas mobilized cultural patronage to transform the small city of Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, into a center for national tourism. 

Free and open to the public.
