Microsoft Teams – widely used for committees, departments, research teams, and student groups – was enabled for students, faculty, and staff in September 2018. Teams has also been used for academic collaboration, including student research groups and courses.

If you are interested in exploring the possibility of using Teams in your classroom and how it compares with features in Sakai and other learning tools, reach out to Teaching & Learning with Technology or submit a request for a team to get started.

Why Use Teams with Your Students?

  • Engage in rich online conversations in your team or in one-to-one or group chats, and hold audio and video meetings
  • Share files, media, and other content with your class; use channels in teams to organize information; and use robust embedded search to find what you need
  • Collaborate in real-time in online versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote
  • Take advantage of robust accessibility features to support an inclusive classroom
