Census 2020 - What Your Family Needs to Know!Contributed by Doreen Hettich-Atkins on 03/04/20 As you’re heading home soon for Spring Break, make sure to talk with your family about the importance of completing the 2020 Census. Remind them that you will be counted where you live most of the year which is in Tompkins County. Families should record all those who are living in their household on April 1 on their Census Form. College students should be counted where they are living the majority of the year or where they are living on April 1 – the official Census count day. Counting people where the live most of the year, using April 1 as a proxy date, helps to determine a number of important things including:
