Patricia Zimmermann, Professor of Screen Studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, published a co-authored analytical conversation with Caren Kaplan unpacking and analyzing the use of drones during the COVID-19 international shelter-in-place directives.

The piece is entitled "Coronavirus Drones Genres:  Spectacles of Distance and Melancholia." It also features an imbedded playlist of drone videos from cities across the globe on lockdown during the pandemic.   It was published in Quorum, the online initiative of the film and media studies journal Film Quarterly
