Contributed by Luca Maurer on 04/11/20

Missing the LGBT Center Resource Room and all of the lovely people that spend time there? We may have a solution! Introducing the Virtual Resource Room, a Zoom space where you can see some friendly faces, chat, do homework, and watch cat and dog livestreams with other students. The 2020 Census is a constitutionally mandated once-a-decade count of our nation. It is critical that we achieve a complete and accurate count of everyone living in the United States because the results determine how many representatives in Congress each state has — and how more than $675 billion federal dollars are distributed each year into communities for the next decade.

The challenge:

Explain why the census matters in a short (30 seconds to 3 minutes) video, designed for a platform such as YouTube, that uses entertainment, emotion, creativity, and/or humor to motivate people to respond.

This video prize challenge is open to any individual, team, or university student/student organization that can create a video that meets all of the requirements of this challenge.

Submission deadline is 11:59 pm on May 7, 2020

Details about the Challenge are available here.
