Last week I invited representatives of campus media outlets to a meeting to discuss the policy that requires student journalists who wish to speak with members of Administrative Assembly to route their requests through the media relations office. I wanted to get feedback on how it had been working directly from those most impacted by the policy.

Over the past four weeks, Thomas Kline, Director of Music Admission and Preparatory Programs, has been traveling throughout Asia to audition some of the world's top young musicians. The trip was part of the USA Schools of Music tour, which includes Boston University, Oberlin Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, and Peabody Conservatory.

Due to the Thanksgiving break, timecards for the pay period November 5 through November 18, must be submitted, and approved, by noon on Friday, November 16 for payment on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Timecards approved after noon on Friday will be paid in the next payroll on Friday, December 7.

On Thursday, November 29th, Catherine Taylor, Associate Professor in the Department of Writing, will give an invited lecture at Columbia University entitled "Between Art and Politics: 'Ficto-Criticism' and Suspended Genres" and will also read from her recent book, Apart.
