The National Teaching Fellowship with Citizen Schools is a two year AmeriCorps program for individuals who are eager to participate in education reform. Members of the National Teaching Fellowship teach in the expanded day, grow in a professional role, and serve as community builders dedicated to closing the opportunity and achievement gaps.

Kati Lustyik, assistant professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies, published an article in current issue of Journal of Film and Popular Television titled “The Commercialization of Children’s Television in Postsocialist Europe.”

The Journal of Film and Popular Television is an international peer-reviewed academic journal with an acceptance rate of approximately 15%.

The Ithaca College chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) received the National Outstanding Campus Chapter Award for 2011-2012 at the Excellence in Journalism 2012 conference in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The award recognizes the best SPJ chapter among the 200 campus chapters nationally.
