The Tuba/Euphonium studio will be holding a fundraiser concert on Wednesday, May 2nd in Ford Hall at 10:00 am. The performance will feature the Youngblood Brass Band Group, the South Hill Jazz Quartet, members of the Tuba/Euphonium Studio, and Ithacapella, Premium Blend, and IC Voicestream. The concert will be MC-ed by Junior Music Education Majors Riley Goodemote and Emily Dobmeier. It will be a great way to celebrate the life of Greg as well as the end of the school year.  Community raffles, including gift cards to Purity Ice Cream and Hickey's Music store, will be sold (starting at $1) and donations of any amount will be collected during the concert.

Turning Technologies NXT clickers have been selected to replace the current eInstruction PRS clickers starting for Fall 2012.  Representatives from Turning Technologies  will be on campus on May 15 for three live demonstrations of the latest software and features  All faculty who have used clickers in the past or want to learn more are encouraged to attend.

There will be three sessions all in the Cayuga Lake Room of the Campus Center on May 15, 2012. Registration is appreciated to determine refreshments and lunch counts.

With subscriptions available for as little as $30, Ithaca College Theatre will kick off a new season of theatre. The season opens in October with a drama from Tracy Letts, author of August: Osage County. Ken Carpenter, a middle-aged man from the middle of America, discovers he's lost his faith. Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, The Man from Nebraska follows Ken on a journey away from home where he examines his faith and how we choose what we believe. The season will continue with the fall musical, Legally Blonde, telling the story of sorority sister Elle who gets dumped by her boyfriend for not being “serious”. She follows him to Harvard to show him just how serious she can be and learns that finding love is not always pink.

Faculty, Students, Alumni Collaborate on Opera Written by School of Music Faculty Member.

Ithaca College Opera and Ithaca College Light Opera are excited to announce that The Wolf By the Ears, an opera written by School of Music faculty member Dana Wilson which explores the romantic relationship between President Thomas Jefferson and one of his African-American servants, Sally Hemings, will be presented as a formal semi-staged read-through with orchestra on Wednesday, May 2nd at 7:00pm in Hockett Family Recital Hall. Wilson’s opera is the first operatic work to be written, directed, conducted, produced and performed by Ithaca College faculty, students, and alumni. Admission is free and open to the public.

The first production of The Lesbian Fairytale Musical goes up April 27th at 8pm and 10:30pm in Presser Hall at the Whalen School of Music at Ithaca College - free admission! The LFM has been in production for just over a year, and as this production is a labor of love, we want everyone and anyone to be able to experience and enjoy the show, so we will not be charging admission.
