President Tom Rochon has announced that “Ten Thousand Saints,” the debut novel by assistant professor of writing Eleanor Henderson, has been selected for the First-Year Reading Initiative for the 2012–13 academic year. The book has earned across-the-board praise for its sensitive portrayals of youthful rebellion and family dynamics.

As of January 3, 2012 Facilities Services will provide tamper resistant, locked confidential bin service for the secure destruction by shredding of large quantities of confidential paper, such as file clean-outs, at a fee of $30 per bin.

Facilities Services will no longer provide "convenience bins" that are left in an area for an indefinite period of time.

Image Database down 1/9 to 1/10

The image database will be down for upgrades on January 9th and 10th. Please download any images you may need before this if possible.

The Fitness Center will be offering a limited number of Zumba classes over Winter Break.  The classes will be open to all members of the Ithaca College campus community, and will be held on the following dates:

Monday 1/9, Thursday 1/12, Tuesday 1/17, and Wednesday 1/18

All of the Winter Break Zumba classes will begin at Noon.

The Ithaca Journal recently announced its 2011 Kenny Van Sickle Award winners. The awards, named for the newspaper's long-time sports editor, honor the area's top coaches and athletes. Ithaca softball coach Deb Pallozzi was named 2011's Female Coach of the Year and Rachael Palladino, a junior on the women's soccer team, was selected Female Athlete of the Year.

The Chalkboard is an undergraduate journal based at IC. We are seeking contributions on relevant topics such as education, schooling, social change, etc. We would like formal papers, narrated presentations, artwork, and literature reviews. We accept submissions from any college student regardless of major or year. If you don't want to submit a paper but are interested in working with us please email us for more information. 
  
Submissions should be emailed to chalkboardjournal@gmail.com  You will receive a confirmation email with 48 hours of submission. We will let you know by February 1st whether your submission has been accepted or denied.

The Chalkboard Journal accepts papers on a rolling basis.
