We are looking for functioning typewriters to use for a MLK Week event on January 28 titled "Type or Tweet". The event is designed to commemorate the civil rights struggles of the 1960s while celebrating our progress as a society. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves using words, much like MLK, Jr. did in his letter from Birmingham Jail. This event will allow students to utilize old and new forms of letter-writing and communication. The event will span generations, from typewriters to twitter accounts. Read more . . .
