Environmental Studies & Sciences, Primitive Pursuits, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension will be offering two Wilderness Skill Instructor Certification programs next spring, both during and after the 2012 spring academic semester. This course will cover a wide variety of primitive technology skills, naturalist skills and teaching methods.

The College Holiday Calendar that was previously communicated did not include 1/2/12 as an identified paid holiday. This day off is part of the original Winter Holiday Break schedule that was developed by creating scenarios based on what day of the week Christmas falls during a given year. Human Resources made a mistake when sharing the calendar with the campus community. We apologize for any confusion or difficulty for employees planning their time off during the Winter Holiday Break. Cynthia Henderson, Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, has been recognized by Sustainable Tompkins for her ongoing work with Performing Arts for Social Change (PASC). Professor Henderson was formally recognized for her contributions to sustainability at an awards reception on December 11th at the Women's Community Building in downtown Ithaca. Her “Sign” is on display among those of other award-winners.
