Enter the world of water issues through viewing documentaries, animations and PSA’s about water issues. You will learn to develop concepts and approaches for creating media that can potentially help expand water awareness among diverse people, including here at Ithaca College. Course includes multimedia presentation “Re-Imagining Water: An Evening of Water Wisdom and Art.” Taught by water activist Mara Alper, who teaches the “Water = Life” online course and video production in the Roy H. Dr. Sadhana Nayak is a Mumbai, India based vocal arts medicine specialist/ laryngologist specializing in 'Enhancement, Care & Rehabilitation of The Professional & Performance Voice'. Dr. Nayak has the unique distinction of training in various disciplines related to the voice viz. laryngology, voice coaching, and performance psychology and has developed an eclectic and holistic approach to the voice. She is currently at NYU Tisch as Fulbright visiting faculty for the fall semester.

All majors are welcome. No pre-registration is required.

About Healthy Living for Musicians
On the second Tuesday of each academic block, the School of Music offers Healthy Living for Musicians sessions in partnership with the Ithaca College Office of Counseling and Psychological Services. School of Music students are encouraged to participate in these sessions to establish a healthy body, mind, and soul, which are a foundation to a happy and successful career. Recital attendance credit is given at each session.

Ari Kissiloff, assistant professor in the Department of Strategic Communication, participated in numerous panels and sessions at the New York State Communication Association (NYSCA) annual conference that took place October 21-23 in Ellenville, NY. This year's theme was "Communication Connections: Contributions and Collaborations between Distanced Groups."

Kissioff was chair and roundtable participant of "Media Literacy and Distanced Groups" which discussed the ways in which media literacy and new communication technologies can help to bridge town/gown, urban/rural, business/academic, and other distanced groups, drawing on theory and practice from communications, education, and psychology.

One of the most interesting voices in contemporary photography, Alec Soth will visit Ithaca College and the Roy H. Park School of Communications on Thursday, November 3 at 7:00 pm in the Park Auditorium.

Soth makes compelling images of everyday America that form powerful narrative vignettes. His work easily crosses boundaries from contemporary fine art practice to journalism as well as print and web editorial work. In addition to being a Magnum photographer, he is a prolific maker and publisher of photographic books, and has created a series of multi-media pieces for the New York Times.
